It closes rather underwhelmingly on ‘Fuck Love’. Impossible is Nothing belongs as part of the opening ‘struggle’ themed section of the album. Whilst ‘Goddess’ has elements of greatness, it fails to fully hit the mark. Paired with Lady Patra, which has Azalea at her rapping high, the second half of the album is saved from being down trodden and a bit same old. As a revenge pop record, Black Widow featuring her bestie Rita Ora is sinister, catchy trap inspired pop – the kind that Katy Perry tried but failed on with ‘Dark Horse’. There is a lot of standard stuff here, but there are a few stellar exceptions that slip through the cracks. With hooks like “”Damn, she is too thick, who is this?” / Yeah I’m his new bitch / I’m his new bitch” it’s a weak call for a single, but could possibly enter the current trio. She isn’t tackling anything serious here, and as a follow up to the near perfect pop/rap amalgamation ‘Fancy’, it’s an excusable silly song. We then go into the singles, as Change Your Life, Fancy and Work are spun off consecutively only broken by ‘New Bitch’. It feels a bit tired not inventive for someone who hails themself ‘The New Classic’. Azalea tackles all the issues she tackled in her first single, ‘Work’ in a much more ineffective manner. Going by the track titles alone, you’ll pretty much understand the basic nature of the tracks.

The record opens with ‘Walk the Line’ and ‘Don’t Need Y’all’. It shouldn’t work, but for those who have doubted her so far, it is worth looking back from where she came from. She is a gorgeous, blonde haired Australian woman with a sometimes slightly off putting American twang to her voice. In a way, everything about Iggy Azalea is a little bit novel. We’ve heard it all before in some way or another, but her approach to many of the otherwise familiar tracks on this record makes it a little more eye opening and exciting. That’s the thematic consensus of her long delayed, yet highly anticipated debut album.

She’s got money now, she’s at the head of her game. She worked hard to get where she is and if you don’t “get that”? Fuck you. Iggy Azalea is keen to let you know her struggles.
